Senior Portraits Sacramento - Arie

I had another totally cool and fashion forward high school senior book a Couture Senior Session with me for her Senior Pictures in Sacramento and can I just say, I HAD A BLAST! Meet Arie, a Rocklin area high school senior who just had the senior portraits session to end all senior portrait sessions. Right here in the heart of Downtown Sacramento. This intelligent, empathetic, and artistic kid is about to embark on the next chapter of her life -adulthood- and there’s no better way to capture this unique and incredible time than to book a Senior Portrait Session. (Especially if it’s with Lacey M. Carroll Photography.)

Normally, when you book any level of a Senior, Teen, or Tween portrait session with us we ask that you create a Pinterest board that has all of your fashion, hair, and makeup inspirations for your photoshoot. This important step helps Lacey pre-pull items from her massive LMC Style Closet, helps you understand what it is you truly want your senior pictures to look like, and gives you ideas of what items you may want to purchase for your senior portraits. When we saw Arie’s Pinterest, we knew this thrift-loving, theatrical teen was going to BRING IT with each one of her looks. During her Fashion Consult she hilariously named each one of her looks. Names like “Artsy Water Bottle” and “Matremornious Powder Puff”. Comment below and let us know which looks you think these names are referring to!

Before you head to the comments section let’s chat about how the day went! Arie and her mom, Alyson arrived before the sun to get started on her HMU (that’s short for Hair and Makeup) for her Senior Portrait Session. She wanted everything outside and this is why we started so early. If you are in Northern California you know how HOT it gets during the summer months and because of that starting this summer (2025) we do not book any photoshoots for outdoor locations in July and August and will begin your HMU BEFORE sunrise during the warmer months leading up to and following July and August. So Mai Artistry, our beloved HMUA (a= artist), and all arrived at 5AM to get started on her HMU package. We stopped at multiple Downtown Sacramento locations, including Capitol Park to capture all of these gorgeous images. I LOVE how all of these sets turned out and hope that Arie and Alyson love them just as much. Read below to find out in Arie’s own words what moments and looks were her favorites. Comment below to let us know what look is yours!

1. What made you choose Lacey M Carroll as your photographer for your Basic Senior Session?
I picked Lacy because I felt like her style was very timeless and classic.
2. What did you envision your photoshoot would be like?
I didn’t go into my photoshoot with a particular idea of what it would be. I’ve never done a photoshoot so I didn’t know what to expect. But from all the previous appointments I wasn’t nervous about it at all.
3. Which look turned out to be your favorite?
My favorite look ended up being the white dress with the beaded shawl wrap.
4. What was your favorite moment of the photoshoot?
My favorite moment from the shoot was getting to climb up the tree for pictures.
5. Was there anything you'd do differently if you got to do the photoshoot again?
If I where to do my shoot differently I’d probably do more closeups.
6. Anything you'd like to be included in the blog post about you and your experience?
My favorite part about working with Lacey was getting to use my own pieces for looks. As a thrifter, I’m quite proud of my signature pieces and getting to wear some in my senior photos felt very special and made it so much more personal.
7. Any advice you want to give the Class of 2026 (incoming seniors)?

My advice to the incoming seniors: chillax. And have fun!
